The Driver of Curiosity

The Driver of Curiosity

Erik Lindvall  | Creative Designer, Stockholm

Colour // Sustainable Red

“ Every time when there is doubt, I will find something else to be curious about”

It all started in his backyard, a tiny bright greenhouse surrounded by shady trees and lush plants. This tranquil place sparked his unusual idea.

Erik Lindvall, founder of Guringo discovered that he wanted to work on something attractive yet sustainable for the environment. A stylish thought-provoking idea and something that will drive his curiosity further.

He wanted to create a compostable fashion product.

After being a professional fashion photographer for over 20 years, he was exposed to the insides and constantly changing world of fashion. Still very much fascinated by the industry, Erik decided to venture into fashion as a designer.

Taking a step further, pushing his boundaries and breaking the rules, he decided to do more research into creating a fabric that is biodegradable and compostable—a fabric made from food and vegetables.

Something built to deteriorate.

It took years of research but Erik finally got there.

Despite multiple challenges, he persevered through uncharted territory, driven by his desire to improve sustainability.

“Why do I need money when there is no society?”

He constantly questions and re-evaluates the actual premises of society without being stopped by old beliefs and habits. Erik wants to create an impact and bring conceptual aspects into reality.

When in doubt, Erik just redirects his mind to finding something else to be curious about and to spark his curiosity again.

This allows him to create concepts that are not only fresh but also timeless.

“ Fashion will find its way”

It expresses identity in its own right.

”Jag har inte lärt mig det ännu”  (I haven’t learned it yet)- Gunde Swan

He doesn’t believe in failure, It is all a learning process and getting his mind in the right place is crucial.
