Goodbye & Hello

Shauna Willis | Podcaster, Bunbury

Colour // Weather Green
After 35 years of weather presenting for GWN, Shauna Willis felt it was time.

It was the moment when she came in contact with an aggressive and unprofessional young journalist, she realised that times have changed.

It was time to explore,
time to discover,
time to push boundaries,
and time to liberate.

Still unsure what to do then, she took a break, and spent time with her family and friends. It was then, one idea sprang to light.

Podcasting.

It is about having a conversation focussing on everyday women with incredible stories.

With the various ways of navigating through some challenging scenarios, from women to teenagers, all cultures and diverse backgrounds.

Her first step was to be mentally prepared and start fresh. She also needed to clear up her wardrobe to make way for her new direction.

Her new focus is her new purpose.

To create an environment to support each other. Women are extraordinarily resilient and a good conversationalists.

“Having a cry, or laughing hysterically, and sharing issues is the best therapy.

“You won’t be loved all the time. Believe in yourself and never judge your value based on someone else’s opinion.

“Like most people, I’ve had numerous tough times. But I reminded myself that I am a mum and I have to go on.”

Parenting has included some very emotional experiences from utter joy to gut-wrenching fear in times of accidents and illness. The main mantra has always been –

“Just breathe, hold on and you will get through this”

In the end, it’s gratitude to have experienced love at all.

It’s about redirecting the mind.

You are not going to be in this mindset or place forever.

Endure.
